UNNAMED

1 Apr

Into the woods, save for the trees

I see the ocean beyond the breeze

Hear the waves as they rush the shore

I am only moments, from the Lord

Can you feel the mist kiss your face

Taste the salt against your lips as lace

Feel the warmth caress your flesh

See the pink upon your breasts

Raise your hands to God above

Hear the call of doves in love

Close your eyes and know you’re done

Home is heaven where there is love

This is the time, it has finally come

You have walked the path known to none

THE SNAKE

25 Mar

Shed your flesh, lay it down once more

Peeled back in layers, remnants on the floor

Soaked, oiled, glistening beneath your cloak

Concealing your presence from those you’ll choke

Tall reeds and grass give shade from the glare

Again you’re hidden; out of the sun’s red flare

Heaven overhead, dead earth beneath

Waiting you are for those who’ll sleep

Silence is the key to eyeing your mark

Aim for the throat then straight for the heart

DOMINANCE

13 Mar

Time has come, rush the gates
Let it out, hurry don’t wait
Aim your gun, fire your piece
Bring the night, silence released

Candy’s crush by design
Terrors beheld all this time
Green eyes glean in the dark
Ripping, shredding hearts apart

Seek your target once again
Kill, destroy; blood runs thin
Hear the cries, hear the pleas
Find the enemy on their knees

Make them beg, watch them pray
God nor the devil knew this day
Time has come, aim your piece
Silence bestowed upon your feet

Sharing

29 Jan

Do I write
Share something fine
Let you within;
recesses of this mind.

Can I trust
Should I divulge;
hidden treasures,
secret gold?

Shh, keep quiet,
perhaps you’ll win,
the golden ticket;
passage, long forbidden.

Change your ways,
alter one act;
certain death you’ll have;
fortune turn bad.

Never looking back,
empty, starved for more,
she’ll leave you; begging,
kneeling on the floor.

Behave, be good;
treasures instilled.
She’ll cherish your presence,
until time stands still.

“Mommy, do you think I can go out to play?”

“Not today, little one.  It looks like rain.”

“But rain is fun.”

“Not today.  You might catch a cold.”

“But colds are nice too.”

“They are?”

“Yes.”

The sweet smell of rain filters in as small droplets begin to hit the planks of wood shielding the windows.

“Rebecca.”

“Yes mamma.”

“Why are colds nice?”

“Because when I get a cold you tell me stories, give me warm milk, and sing songs.”

“Oh”

“Can I go out tomorrow?”

“We’ll see.”

“I hope tomorrow comes soon.”

“You do?”

“Yes, mommy, I do.”

TIME

01Sept2013

The weight of waiting is quite irritating

Time slows down I commence to frown

When time speeds up, I’m falling down drunk

Keep up, slow up, I’m about to throw up

but do not fear, Speedy Time Man is near

He knows when I frown and turns me a clown

Impatient I wait for him to contemplate them

turning up the rotation so again is elation

winding down my frustration leaving me complacent – Tadalena Warner
