New Beginnings

New Beginnings
By Tadalena Warner

I can’t wait, it’s coming make no mistake
Time is drawing near; the end is at hand
A new day upon us, a new breath we breathe
The life once lived has come; our reprieve
Don’t worry my dear, it’s a blessing in disguise
Life worth living no longer hides behind closed eyes
Come, won’t you and play along
Time is of the essence when building anew
Life, love, and living in every hue

Second Chance

Second Chance
By Tadalena Warner

A flicker of diamonds in his eyes
My heart quickens as I see
Is he perchance looking at me?
Lovely he is with warm golden skin
Heaven sent filling me with bliss again
Could he be? Oh how I wish it so
If it be, then I never let him go
Is he wondering the same?
Perhaps, he will ask my name
Or, he will look again my way
I would love to hear him say
Do you live close by?
Oh yes, I would reply
Smiles exchanged and glances too
Between two strangers who never knew
Today would be the day a new friend is found
Together, they have common ground
A love for the Father and all things plentiful
Love, laughter, and a joy from above
You see, one has all they need in God whom we love
Trust in Him and you will see
What treasures He will bestow upon thee
He gives you all you desire of Him
He loves you more than any man
Trust in Him and know that I tell you no lie
The Heavenly Father is always by your side
And when you are weary and weak
He carries you along bearing the weight
So I ask you my friend to take my hand
Together we shall fall in love again
With Him at our side we shall not want
Through Him our love will flourish
Becoming one for all to see
The truth in God is all we need

Happy Birthday my dear
Happy birthday indeed
Happy birthday my heart
Forever happiness my sweet
Forever joy comes to you
Forever love clung like glue
Mommy loves you beyond
A love she cannot deny
Mommy loves the angel
Her angel in white

Wishful Thinking
By Tadalena Warner
(This is a poem I wrote thinking about what I would want my husband to say to me)

To the love of my life
The woman I will call my wife
She is a vision to behold
A true goddess with hair of red
and gold
Curls woven softly atop her head
Gently scent our ocean bed
Our love is a treasure this is true
Buried deep in warm desert sand
Nestled close by splashing waves
Kissed by heaven’s blue angel gates
How do I know this vision unseen?
The simple fact that she sees me
Not the man I pretend to be
She sees the man under lock and key
The vulnerable boy who loves a girl
Would willingly give her the world
To know she loves him just the same
Never forsaking his love for a game
She does love him with all her heart
Wants nothing more than to never part
To hold his hand for eternity
Knowing his love is all she ever needs
United in the arms of love
I give myself to you from above
Our hearts are as one
A union never to be broken or undone
This treasure is ours to keep
Forever is eternity we need not speak
Our hearts are woven creating love’s tapestry
Joined together we are set free

72nd Bike Week
2013

OH MY STARS!  I just had to snap this photo!

Friday marks the first day of bike week here in Daytona Beach, Florida.  While I was walking down Mainstreet, I came upon a barber shop and knew this was a once in a lifetime moment.  It is also a prime example of something my husband used to play with me and our children.  What triggered this memory was the comment my friend made in an email.  “While I am eating your brains.”  That particular comment brought back a barrage of instances, but the one that I clung to was the brain spider.  Placing your hand upon the top of someone’s head.  Give it a flex or two and ask your unwitting victim, ‘what is this?’  Unless they have been privy to this sort of folly they are naturally going to reply with I don’t know or something silly.  That is when my husband would come back with ‘a brain spider starving to death.’
