The shuttle experience may not have gone as hoped, but there is one thing this little tiger can say for certain, his mom kicks it harder than your mom. Image Copyright Tadalena Warner

TIME

01Sept2013

The weight of waiting is quite irritating

Time slows down I commence to frown

When time speeds up, I’m falling down drunk

Keep up, slow up, I’m about to throw up

but do not fear, Speedy Time Man is near

He knows when I frown and turns me a clown

Impatient I wait for him to contemplate them

turning up the rotation so again is elation

winding down my frustration leaving me complacent – Tadalena Warner

Weekly Photo Challenge – In the Background

25 May

Weekly Photo Challenge – In the Background :  The challenge is to take a photo of yourself showing your reflection with the foreground or background as the main focus.  This can be done using shadows, family and friends, but remember to include yourself in the shot.  Many times, we neglect to notice the things in our every day lives as a form of art.

Below is the link to the Daily Post who puts out many amazing photo challenges.  Why not give it a try and see what emerges.

Memorial Weekend - Grey Beauty - 1951

Memorial Weekend

I tried capturing this grey beauty’s interior with me in the background, but I think it’s a little off. As you can see, I come through pretty clear as does my background. At any rate, she’s a gorgeous 1951 sedan with red and black interior. Too bad it’s just sitting out in the sun with no one to drive her.

Second Chance

Second Chance
By Tadalena Warner

A flicker of diamonds in his eyes
My heart quickens as I see
Is he perchance looking at me?
Lovely he is with warm golden skin
Heaven sent filling me with bliss again
Could he be? Oh how I wish it so
If it be, then I never let him go
Is he wondering the same?
Perhaps, he will ask my name
Or, he will look again my way
I would love to hear him say
Do you live close by?
Oh yes, I would reply
Smiles exchanged and glances too
Between two strangers who never knew
Today would be the day a new friend is found
Together, they have common ground
A love for the Father and all things plentiful
Love, laughter, and a joy from above
You see, one has all they need in God whom we love
Trust in Him and you will see
What treasures He will bestow upon thee
He gives you all you desire of Him
He loves you more than any man
Trust in Him and know that I tell you no lie
The Heavenly Father is always by your side
And when you are weary and weak
He carries you along bearing the weight
So I ask you my friend to take my hand
Together we shall fall in love again
With Him at our side we shall not want
Through Him our love will flourish
Becoming one for all to see
The truth in God is all we need

Wishful Thinking
By Tadalena Warner
(This is a poem I wrote thinking about what I would want my husband to say to me)

To the love of my life
The woman I will call my wife
She is a vision to behold
A true goddess with hair of red
and gold
Curls woven softly atop her head
Gently scent our ocean bed
Our love is a treasure this is true
Buried deep in warm desert sand
Nestled close by splashing waves
Kissed by heaven’s blue angel gates
How do I know this vision unseen?
The simple fact that she sees me
Not the man I pretend to be
She sees the man under lock and key
The vulnerable boy who loves a girl
Would willingly give her the world
To know she loves him just the same
Never forsaking his love for a game
She does love him with all her heart
Wants nothing more than to never part
To hold his hand for eternity
Knowing his love is all she ever needs
United in the arms of love
I give myself to you from above
Our hearts are as one
A union never to be broken or undone
This treasure is ours to keep
Forever is eternity we need not speak
Our hearts are woven creating love’s tapestry
Joined together we are set free

Time has passed beyond my grasp
His presence brushing my milky flesh
As he escapes from whence he rest
Dressed for moments that flicker by
Draped in silks and beaded lace
I turn and see his gentle face
I hear him whisper once again
Until tomorrow my precious friend
Take my hand and dance once more
Instances of pleasure by your side
Remembering times, together
Waltzing as one, hand-in-hand
Recalling moments ever so grand
Steps committed to memory
Familiar caresses begin our play
A ballet of moments takes the stage
Before the world for all to see
I am here my friend to set you free

Indifference

Indifference
By Tadalena Warner

You leave the light on and I wait
A moment perhaps, so we may speculate
but you aren’t up for chatter these days
In truth, you aren’t up for much if I’m in the craze
You’d much rather chat it up with women of late
Pretty little packages on your lappy screen
They offer more sustenance than a woman like me
Fillies who’ve had enough of the married scene
Ditching their husbands or they of them
then looking for suitors who remind her of him
but they know not what they truly desire
Is it companionship, fun, or the filthy mire
Perhaps, they seek comfort from you
Money, luxury, or our family who
We dreamt of, created, and nurtured
but what of their families, their hopes of the future
Did they abandon them for a moment on your screen
in hopes of finding a mate from someone else’s dream
