“Pick up, pick up, pick up!”
“Hello”
“Gloria, you won’t believe this, but I found it!”
“Found what?”
“I found it, you know the it we’ve been looking for.”
“You said that last time and it turn out to be nothing more than a porthole to the sales department at Sears and Roebuck no less.”
“I’m telling you, it’s the it we’ve been looking for. Get the guys and meet me at the corner of 5th and Madison.”
2hrs later
“What took you so long?”
“Well….”
“Never mind, it doesn’t matter. Where are the others?”
“They…”
“OH MY STARS…”
“What?”
Dear Taladena,
I take it the others have disappeared through the true porthole to another world. Most intriguing.
Shalom,
Rochelle
That’s one thing about make-believe, it leaves unanswered questions.
Thanks for reading 🙂
They what? What happened to them?
I don’t know, what do you think may have happened?
They probably died or didn’t show up.
Anyway, please click on the link below to take part in the poll I’m taking about WordPress’ advert on our blogs without informing us first.

Well ….???? What? Very exciting, but I’d like a little more closure … OR maybe a bit more mystery. Sparkling story!
Thanks for reading. I’ll have to take what you’ve said into consideration.
Have a wonderful evening.
So did they go through the portal? Hopefully they didn’t end up at Sears spending all their money. 🙂
janet
ha ha ha….at Sears spending their money…you’re a funny girl.
Thanks for reading
Haha! This was fantastic. I think they are all getting some swell makeovers at 1955 Sears and Roebucks!
I decided to go with Rochelle’s interpretation 🙂
This is great. So many unanswered questions (just like life) Love it! (of course I enjoy all things sci-fi/fantasy related) 🙂
Brilliant!
Great idea, well written and lots of options for the reader.
Just how a short story should be.
Sears needs all the help they can get. I am sure they would pay lots of money to have these portals installed all through Wal Mart. Nice tension you built here Tad.
Oh my stars, you have me laughing.
Thanks for reading and Thank you for the comments.
Clearly a riddle here… answers next week?
oh dear, you want more?
It puts me in mind of the phone exit point in the matrix. Nice story, although I’d have liked some clue as to what happened at the end.
lol…I guess I need to watch the Matrix. As for the ending, I’m not too bad when it comes to cliffhangers, it’s the rest of the story that stumps me.
It was quite intriguing. I like the idea of the phone being a porthole to somewhere else. 🙂
Thanks, me too 🙂
My mind is making all sorts of endings! Great read 🙂
I like this
You do? Please do tell me what it is that appeals to you.
Yes I do. I like the way the suspense and mystery builds up then we are left just there – wanting to know what comes next 🙂
Thanks, maybe I’ll build on it some time.
