Walking Away
By Tadalena Warner

You walk away leaving me behind
No value you found in my arms
You walked away without a goodbye
Only looking back to gawk as I cried
Leaving me to lie upon the cold hard land
Your love dissipated in untruths
You walked away leaving me to die
Leaving me to wonder what had I done
Is it my fault you killed me and ran
Shooting me dead; your bullet ripping at my flesh
Destroying the angel who kept your heart
Never thinking she’d lose her place
Your love was untrue, her disgrace
A tease to decimating from within
Taking her heart, soul, and mind
Leaving behind shame upon her face
You walked out on her that fateful day
